Evan Rachel Wood
Evan Rachel Wood was conceived in
Raleigh, North Carolina on September 7, 1987. Her father, Ira David Wood III is
a theater actor, writer and director, and her mother, Sara Wood, is an actor
and acting coach. She is the daughter of Dana Wood, a musician and Ira David
Wood III, an actor. Evan and her brothers occasionally were on stage in the
Theatre In The Park in Raleigh, which her father founded and where the director
is executive. After a long audition process when she was just five years old,
she old when she had the opportunity to screen-test against Kirsten Dunst. With
her mother and brother Ira the family moved to Los Angeles in 1996. Since then,
she has enjoyed the success of television shows and movies on television, and
feature films. Tracy played her part in Practical Magic (1998) and also in
S1m0ne (2002, Al Pacino's child). Holly Hunter followed with Thirteen (2004).
Her role in the film as Tracy in "Thirteen" garnered her an award.
Golden Globes nomination for Best Performance by an actor in the genre of
Motion Picture: Drama and for a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination for
Outstanding Performance by Female Actress in an Leading Role. When she received
the award from SAG she was the most youthful actor in the Leading Role
category. In her role as Veda Pierce, the HBO miniseries Mildred Pierce (2011)
which she starred in, she was awarded an Emmy and Golden Globe nominations. The
same award was given to her performance as Stephanie (Mickey Rourke's ex-wife)
in Darren Aronofsky’s The Wrestler (2008). Sara Wood and Ira David Wood III
are her parents. Ira David Wood III's younger sister. A dancer who has been
trained. She enjoys to sing, do horseback riding, and rollerblade. She is a
black belt in tae kwon do. Has kept in touch with most of her Once and Again
(1999) castmates: Mischa Barton, Julia Whelan, as well as Shane West.
