Alison Doody
Alison Doody has been an Irish model and actor from 11 November 1996. She made her debut in a feature film with a small part in Bond film A View to a Kill (1985) she was later cast to portray the an archaeologist who is sympathetic to Nazis, Elsa Schneider, in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989). Other roles include Siobhan Donavan on the film A Prayer for the Dying (1987) Charlotte in Taffin (1988) and Rebecca Flannery in Major League II (1994). Doody began modelling after being approached by an experienced photographer. This led to an enviable professional career as a model for commercials. Doody avoided nude and glamour modeling, which that she incorporated into her acting. After being noticed by the directors who were casting the James Bond new film, Doody acted in a tiny part in Jenny Flex as in A View to a Kill. Doody's name was featured in John Willis Screen World Vol. 12 which features the most promising young actors of 1986. 38. The year 1987 was the time Mickey Rourke starred in A Prayer for the Dying where she played IRA Member Siobhan Donovan. Doody was an actress in silent films in the 1987 version from The Secret Garden, playing Archibald Craven's dream wife Lilias. She performed the role of Sapsorrow in an episode of Jim Henson's fantasy show The Storyteller, opposite John Hurt Dawn French Jennifer Saunders. She played opposite Pierce Brosnan in the film Taffin (1988) prior to taking possibly her most famous role ever in the role of Austrian Archaeologist and Nazi-sympathiser Dr. Elsa Schneider in 1989's Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade in which she starred alongside Harrison Ford. Doody played alongside Sean Connery in the film in the role of Indy's father. Doody was a part of Jonathan Pryce as Hitler Diaries, a British mini-series inspired by Hitler Diaries. She subsequently relocated to Hollywood. The decision was made to replace Cybill Shepard as L'Oreal spokesperson and then was later cast alongside Charlie Sheen as Flannery, his agent and girlfriend as Flannery's girlfriend and agent in Major League II. After nearly a decade from the screen Doody returned to acting by playing a minor role in the 2003 British comedy movie The Actors with Michael Caine as her character in the awards ceremony scene. Her roles included the TV movie version of King Solomon's Mines in 2004 and a book about the Holocaust as well as an animated short called Benjamin's Struggle in 2005. In 2010, Doody was a character in Danny Dyer's film The Rapture (2010). Later, she appeared as a guest in RTE's medical drama The Clinic and was set to appear in a remake of the horror film The Asphyx but the project later stalled. Pam Jefferson is her role in the E4 Comedy Drama Beaver Falls' first of two seasons. In 2014, she appeared on We Still Kill the Old Way (2014). The 21st of November, 2018, she was awarded by the Almeria the tierra de cine prize as well as a star in Almeria Walk of Fame.
